Aging Services and Senior Center
The Aging Services Program of Neighborhood House includes:
Senior Center provides a comprehensive program of
educational, recreational, social and health improvement
activities which promote the continued growth and independence
of older adults. The Center brings at-risk and active seniors
together for a variety of activities, classes, excursions
and the opportunity to become involved as volunteers.
Care Management provides counseling and assistance
in accessing necessary services which enable older adults
to remain independently in their homes.
Information and Assistance provides help with medical
transportation, housing information, medical/dental information,
care giver listings, care management referrals, senior law
project and senior health insurance benefits assistance.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
| Support Groups: |
Dealing with loss, low-vision, stroke, and
the Russian Club. |
| Clinics: |
Foot care, hearing screening, flu and pneumonia
vaccinations, blood pressure, cholesterol screening, income
tax assistance, and the Senior Law Project. |
| Classes: |
Spanish, exercise, woodcarving, arts and
crafts, current events, "55-Alive" defensive
driving course, lectures, and other classes from Portland
Community College and Senior Studies Institute. |
| Cards: |
Bridge and pinochle.

| Social Activities: |
Tours, parties, inter-generational and inter-cultural
events. |
